Imagine John Locke reading today's headlines — he'd casually ask for the law, the limits, and the receipts. He believed governments exist to protect life, liberty and property, not to stage power for its own sake.
If enforcement becomes intimidation instead of protection, Locke would say the social contract's been broken — and that people resisting aren't traitors, they're exercising a right the state surrendered.
